The spirit of Invererne Residencies CIC is of collaboration and cross-pollination between individual creative practices and artistic disciplines. Creative residencies have been run at Invererne since 2014, and over this time we have increasingly focused on bringing artists together from different disciplines. Invererne has hosted artists from around the world working across a broad range of artistic areas including visual arts, music, performance, writing and film.
The project is co-directed by Hugh and Cara, who set up and host the residencies. We met on the devised theatre training at LISPA – an international multi-disciplinary performing arts school. The training encompassed many elements, one of which was a strong emphasis on collaboration. The seeds of the residencies were planted during our time there.

A dear friend
We held our first residency in autumn 2014 and were lucky enough to spend it in the company of a wonderful group of people, one of whom was Brian Appiah Obeng. He was, as so many have attested, a man of huge creativity, energy and kindness. He was and continues to be an inspiration to us – #bemorebrian
